Hello! I'm Mikaela.
a photographer & artist, professional family wrangler, Mainer born and raised, your hype woman, dog whisperer, and your new friend.
I live in a small town (my hometown) in Maine with my fiance Jeff and our 3 rescue dogs Jack, Scout and Marley!
When I'm not shooting, you can find me cooking up some new recipe I found on TikTok that I'll hyperfixate on for the next month, gardening, baking, appreciating a good cup of coffee, antiquing/thrifting, spending time outside with my dogs and fiance, and spending time with family. My family and loved ones are the most important thing in my life. I am so lucky to have the best partner, family and friends around.
My love and inspiration for photography comes from my love for nature and humans. I truly think I have the coolest job ever- to be able to preserve memories for my clients to cherish and look back on for a lifetime.
My photography journey started when I was 11 years old.
My grandfather used to love photography himself. When I was 11 years old, he gave me a point and shoot camera and I quickly fell in love with the art. I started taking pictures of nature, my dogs and cats and horses, Myspace photoshoots with friends, etc. I then went on to do some senior photos for friends in high school then went off the college. My love for photography never ended- and one day I decided to take the leap and create Mikaela King Photography.

Photography isn't just my full time job, it has always been my favorite hobby since I was a child. If money didn't exist, I would truly still be doing exactly what I’m doing today. I'm so passionate about this art and the amazing people I get to work with.

When I'm not taking photos, I love to spend my time with my rescue pups + my fiance Jeff!
Our perfect day is loading the dogs into the car, adventuring around the coast then hitting a restaurant for lunch- then ice cream & pup cups for the dogs of course!
We are currently planning our 2025 coastal Maine wedding and we couldn't be more excited.
